  1. Patella function
    1. Acts as a shield for the anterior knee, protecting it from direct Trauma
    2. Acts as a fulcrum through which quadriceps contraction can more forcefully extend the knee
  2. Quadriceps tendon
    1. Encases the superior Patella (attaching it to the knee extensors)
    2. Quadriceps tendon continues to the Patellar ligament/tendon
  3. Patellar ligament (Patellar tendon)
    1. Encases the inferior Patella, attaching it to the tibial tuberosity
